for those who are having energy problems, you can always replace viper's defense/run skill with glowing gaze and your energy is nearly always full...

i use the MoR build with glowing gaze, rarely have problems with behemoths, make it to the plains in time, and have no problems otherwise

i know it will probly not work in HM, but NM is just fine for making cash... :P

HUZZAH i just broke 100k for the first time in about 3 months

thanks a heap for this. i made the 21 ectos in about a week or so of casual farming in between studying for exams ect, now im sitting on 125 plat or so in the bank, and can proceed to buy elite luxon armor and a dread mask for my necro (Cursed Golden Rin Relics....)

The trick is to let SF run out before you aggro, so your on low health, then reapply when you aggro, and bunch em all up, then nuke em and they dont run.

Also just a side note, killing them all at once DOES NOT REDUCE YOUR CHANCE OF AN ECTO, if it does then i must be very very lucky to get 4 from 1 mob of 27 (well i guess that luck anyway) /endofdisscussion

you dont need to bodyblock or anything. just keep your HP under 100 and they will attack you all the time.

i started off without any vigor rune but found that sometimes when i had to run over traps i would degen to death. so i slapped on a sup vigor (also have +30hp swaps) and now its easy to survive running through a trap. so far this farm has been pretty good, the most ectos ive got in a run is 9. my runs take around 30-35mins to do but thats probably because i kill some of the aatxes and terrorwebs.

i do also the aatxes with the a/me build
but when i run to the chaos planes
now ive had a couple of times that there are those obsidian behemoths just in the beginning or at the end in the way , which i cant get past
do u have any tips ?

the behemoth block is just by a bad chance. Occassionally I get like 4 that completely block the entrance and exit gates.

If you can stick with the boring repetition, this is a great farm. In 10 days (about 2 to 3 hours at a time) I have maxed my storage gold (added 800k) and now have about 30 ecto saved towards getting obby armor. But man is it boring. Gonna quit for awhile and play the game again.

rare mat drops, are NOT connected with loot scaling

and people that are having energy issues. DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT use the glyph of swiftness and Deadly Paradox UNTIL SF is recharge.
i never run out of energy with a constant SF up all the time. if you do find yourself low. just DONT cast any other spells. wait for SF to recharge then Glyph, DP, and SF. also make sure to have a fire off hand that doesnt take away a energy recharge. people who are using one need to stop and think

ps. i have a totem axe some fire offhand i found for the +12 energy and all energy armor(radiant, attunement) also the sup shadow of course

The max I have gotten from a run so far is 5.. and I just did a run and didn't get a single ecto... the run before that I got 1

i've done probably 30-40 runs total now and i've never gotten more than 2. yet my friends are getting 7,8,9 per run sometimes

I use zealous daggers and have a caster sword/+12+15 focus to cast shadowform if needed. You can litteraly spam teh damage skills as much as you want then switch to cast. Also this may be random but I had alot of 1-2 ecto runs mobbing grps of 3 did all of them alone today and had a 50 min run, but got 13 ectos. Was very pleased with it. Yes I am not lying, but no screen didnt really think of it.

I've used both the sliver armor and the fire nuke builds and here are the differences:

Ecto - No difference (no matter if its fast or slow killing)
Other drops - at least twice as much with sliver than nuke
Time - Nuke twice as fast as sliver

Conclusion - if you are after ecto then use the nuke build - its faster. If you want other drops to salvage, etc then use the sliver build.

When I use the nuke build my backpacks are only half full when i'm done. If I use the sliver build, I take a salvage kit and have to use it on all the white drops half way through the run just to have enough space to pick everything up.

But bottom line is that both ways produce the same amount of ecto per run (but you can do twice as many nuke runs in the same time as a single sliver run - so you do the math)!!

That's funny because I've exclusively used the MoR+Font build and I always find myself salvaging whites to make more room for drops.

How many ectos I've seen drop varies just as often as ppl QQ on these forums if that's any indication but the norm seems to be at least 3 a run, most from a single run was 8 I think.

To those having issues getting to the plains, watch the videos posted here in the farming forum and note the path. Make sure you're using cupcakes and [dash] or [flame Djinn's haste].

To those having energy issues, don't be afraid to wand if you must.

Anyways, anyone who doesn't already have a sin or isn't making one is really missing out on some great farming runs. Now if I can just find a good supplier of cupcakes. Speaking of which, whats the going rate atm? I think it was 100g per cupcake but that was before this became popular, lol.
